I’m a senior carpenter and amateur cook with a lifetime of experience using and sharpening steel tools. I purchase the Wusthof 6” cook’s knife in conjunction with the Wusthof 3-1/2” paring knife and I’m pleased with my choices. Very pleased.
I have a variety of knives in many sizes but I haven’t owned a 6” chef’s knife. This Wusthof has excellent proportions and balance, it has enough depth of blade to allow my size 12 knuckles to clear the board yet is light and nimble. The steel is of a fine quality, taking and holding a keen edge without undue effort. All in all an excellent purchase.
Chopping, slicing, and dicing is genuinely effortless with this knife. The 6” size is a nice change from the larger and more standard 8” chef’s knives – nimbler for someone like me. I’m enjoying food prep with this and would be inclined to buy Wusthof again.
